About the role
The Waiter / Waitress will be responsible for providing professional and courteous food and beverage services to hotel guests.
The role involves welcoming customers, presenting menus, taking orders, serving meals and beverages, maintaining restaurant cleanliness, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, good personal presentation, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.
Key responsibilities
Welcome guests and escort them to their tables where necessary.
Present menus and explain available food and beverage options.
Take customer orders accurately and promptly.
Communicate orders to the kitchen and bar teams.
Serve food and beverages professionally.
Ensure orders are delivered correctly and on time.
Check on guests to ensure satisfaction with meals and services.
Handle customer complaints politely and professionally.
Prepare and arrange tables before and after service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant and service areas.
Present bills and process payments where assigned.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient service.
Follow hotel service standards and food safety procedures.
Promote menu items and available hotel services.
Report guest feedback and operational concerns to supervisors.
Minimum qualifications
Certificate in Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer care and service skills.
Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
Good numerical and order-taking skills.
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Required experience
At least 2 years of relevant experience in restaurant, hotel, or food and beverage service.
Experience taking customer orders and serving food and drinks.
Familiarity with restaurant service procedures and table settings.
Experience handling customer inquiries and complaints.
Knowledge of menu presentation and food service standards.
Previous experience in a hotel restaurant will be an added advantage.
